My garage door won't close all the way.

Check the safety sensors: Look at the small sensors near the floor on both sides of the tracks. Ensure they are aligned, facing each other, and that the lenses are wiped clean of dust or cobwebs. Make sure nothing is blocking their path.

The remote control stopped working.

Check the batteries and lock mode: First, replace the batteries in the remote. If that fails, check your wall console inside the garage to ensure the "Lock" or "Vacation" mode hasn't been accidentally activated, which disables remotes.

The door makes a loud grinding or squeaking noise.

Lubrication needed: Metal parts need regular lubrication. Apply a garage-door-specific lithium or silicone spray to the hinges, rollers (if metal), and springs. Do NOT use WD-40, as it attracts dirt. If the noise persists, rollers may need replacing.

The motor runs, but the door doesn't move.

Check the disconnect cord: Ensure the emergency release cord (the red rope hanging from the trolley) hasn't been pulled. If it was, the door is in manual mode. You'll need to re-engage it by pulling the cord toward the door and running the opener to let it reconnect.
